This is an English Spoken Language task that enables students to practise their questioning and listening skills, as well as summarising techniques. The task links to specific information about Dinosaur Isle museum that should be interesting and relevant to students in key stage 2.
Questions have been chosen because they link with core English Spoken Language skills and also specific cross-curricular skills for example in the subjects of Natural History (how the past is represented) and Science (changing materials, rocks, fossils, etc.).
The questions could be discussed in class prior to the trip so students are aware of the information they need to discover.
Completion of the English Spoken Language resource/s linked to this document
Follow-up tasks could include: Whole class discussion about the responses to the questions; Groups presenting back their collated ideas to the class; A written reflective evaluation or summary
Students will be able to demonstrate their questioning skills, by asking appropriate questions of the right people, or finding the required information. Students will also be able to demonstrate that they have listened, by recording and summarising the information gleaned from the visit.
