The shell of Appuldurcombe, once the grandest house on the Isle of Wight, is an important example of English baroque Architecture: the 1701 east front has now been restored. It stands in 'Capability' Brown-designed grounds. An exhibition of photographs and prints depict the house and its history.

Bembridge lifeboat station is classified as a key station by the RNLI and is strategically situated in the Solent, home to the busiest shipping lanes used by over 100,000 commercial ships each year and countless pleasure craft.

Built on the north shore of the Isle of Wight to guard the Solent, the remains of Fort Victoria now house a number of visitor attractions including an underwater archaeology centre ("Sunken Secrets"), Planetarium and Model Railway. Entry to the park is free but the attractions (and parking) are chargeable.

Hovertravel provides the fastest Isle of Wight ferry service across the Solent and is the world's longest running and only commercial hovercraft operator in Europe.

The museum has a varied collection of vintage buses and coaches on display, the majority of which served a good proportion of their working lives operating on the Isle of Wight.

Monkey Haven is a rescue centre and sanctuary for primates and birds of prey who are in desperate need of care and attention. The animals housed at the Haven have come to us for various reasons; they may have been bullied within their original groups, or unsuitable for breeding programmes: some of our raptors are injured native birds that would be unable to fend for themselves in the wild.

Victorian coastal defences and secret rocket testing site perched high above the Needles rocks! Visitors can explore the worlds of the Old and New batteries, enjoying sweeping coastal views and family activities. Discover the vital role it played in Britain's defence history and the 'race for space'.

A Romano-British farmhouse constructed in 280AD and rediscovered in 1926 when the owners of a nearby house sank foundations for a new garage. Subsequent excavations revealed extensive remains of a farmhouse built around 280AD. These well-preserved remains provide a fascinating insight into country life in third century Britain.

A 17th Century town hall with no town ... but a fascinating history! Newtown Old Town Hall was built in 1256 and is the town hall of the former mediaeval and later rotten borough of Newtown. Newtown is now a small village.

At 395 hectares this publicly-accessible forest is a haven for wildlife including red squirrents and many species of birds and owls.

The park houses one of the many Palmerston Forts built on the island to protect it from invasion. As well as a fascinating tour of the battery, the park features many leisure activities including a play park, crazy golf, tennis courts, a woodland walk, access to the beach and much more.

The Abbey of Our Lady of Quarr is a monastery which is home to a small group of Benedictine monks who strive to dedicate their lives to God, and whose day is characterised by prayer, work and community life. There is a fascinating visitor centre, walks of the gardens including fruit & vegetable plots managed by the monks, and animals such as pigs and sheep. Visit the monastery, its chapel and graveyard, and the ruins of the original chapel. Access to the beach.

Victorian pier now featuring a range of indoor and outdoor amenities including a funfair, play area, arcade and cafes.

A leafy wooded ravine with waterfalls and abundant wildlife, plus arts and heritage centre. Shanklin Chine is one of 20-ish Chines of the Isle of Wight.

A tall medieval octagonal tower, allegedly a lighthouse, built here in 1328 as penance for stealing church property from a wrecked ship. Affectionately known as the Pepperpot, it stands on one of the highest parts of the Isle of Wight. A later lighthouse (St Catherine's) can be seen nearby.

One of the oldest lighthouses in Great Britain, St Catherine's was established on the orders of the then Pope in 1323 after a ship ran aground nearby.

One of the UK's most advanced STEM teaching and resource centres designed to help meet the future employment needs of the Island's advanced engineering, electronic and aerospace employers. The centre opened its doors in summer 2015 and Education Destination are delighted to be able to offer activities and taster sessions to our groups!

Home to the world famous coloured Alum Bay sands and the birthplace of radio, The Needles Park offers a perfect trade-off between learning and fun.

See the glassmaking process from end to end - from the collecting and processing of the sands through to the skills of the blower. Or take a ride on the breathtaking chairlift down the chine and onto the beach to see erosion in action on a daily basis in the shadow of the Needles.

Learn about Marconi's very first radio broadcasts from the Isle of Wight and see confectionery being made.
