Trip Diaries are distributed so that everyone has something to keep them quiet
Toilet stops will be taken as necessary
After a timely arrival at Portsmouth it's time to get off the coach and head upstairs to the open deck or the passenger lounge for a good look around. For many students, this will be their first time at sea
It's a 40 minute crossing to Fishbourne on the Isle of Wight, across waters which are generally quite sheltered
Moo-ving on from Farming
On the site of a diversifying dairy farm, Tapnell is the perfect place for indoor and outdoor fun, connecting with and learning about domestic and exotic animals including "hands-on sessions".
Reach For The Sky!
Students will learn how to (safely!) climb a huge oak tree giving far-reaching views across the Solent back to the mainland.
Beautiful Golden Sandy Beach
Appley offers a wide golden sandy beach on one hand, but also offers lush parkland with play areas, cafes, an intriguing gothic tower folly and evidence of wartime defences in Puckpool Park nearby.
Crazy Golf Seaside Fun
Pirates Cove is an 18-hole pirate themed crazy golf course on Shanklin esplanade directly oppsite the beach, featuring pirates, waterfalls, caves, palm trees and a fully rigged pirate ship!
Land of Adventure
The rightly-named "Land of Imagination" with many different attractions in one park. Everything from nursery rhyme characters through to pirates, cowboys, fairies, goblins and life-sized animatronic dinosaurs!
After a short drive to Fishbourne it's time to get back on the ferry for the journey home to the "north island" as we call it...
It's a 40 minute crossing to Portsmouth on the mainland, and an ideal opportunity for everyone to eat a packed lunch before the onward journey
Back on the coach and now it's just a simple case of zipping up the motorway and back to school
The homeward journey should be a lot quieter than the drive down - hopefully everyone will be exhausted from having a great time here on the Isle of Wight and full of precious memories
Again, toilet stops will be taken as necessary
