Key Stage 3 is a time of immense transition. Students are navigating new school environments, forming new friendship groups, and stepping up to a more rigorous curriculum. A residential trip at this age is less about "leaving home" and more about discovering who they are within their peer group.
At Education Destination, we design KS3 trips that strike the perfect balance: providing the perceived independence that young teenagers crave, alongside the structured boundaries and high-energy activities that teachers need to keep the trip running smoothly.

Transport & Ferry Crossings
Moving a large group of teenagers requires precision. We sync your coaches and ferry crossings perfectly to minimize "hanging around" time, keeping the momentum of the trip moving forward.
Accommodation
We utilise accommodation providers that offer safe communal areas. Whether it’s a shared-use hotel or a large activity centre, we ensure there is space for them to socialize safely in the evenings without wandering.
Catering
Fueling a KS3 cohort is no small task. Our catering partners are briefed to provide generous, filling meals with plenty of variety, ensuring no student goes hungry after a long day of outdoor activities.
A really good hotel in a perfect spot right on the beach - the kids were out there the whole time and loved every minute of it!

Activities & Attractions
We weave adventurous activities (AALA-certified watersports, climbing, team-building challenges) with immersive cultural and historical visits. It’s about building resilience and letting them burn off steam in a constructive way.
Learning Resources
Our KS3 resources bridge the gap between primary wonder and GCSE rigor. We provide specialized materials that challenge them to think critically about geography, history, and science while out in the field.

Giving teens independence requires robust safety nets. We request that all venues and activity providers supply OEAP / Evolve compatible Provider Statements and sample Risk Assessments for your consideration.
