Introducing Mottistone & Brook
Mottistone and Brook are adjacent villages tucked away in the south west corner of the Isle of Wight some 8 miles from Newport in the centre. It is home to Mottistone Manor, managed by the National Trust, and the Island's only megalithic monument The Longstone nearby, which was used as a meeting place in Anglo-Saxon times. Brook is on the coast and is famous for its fossil-laden cliffs, beaches and fields, with a chine leading down to Brook Bay - a relatively secluded sand and pebble beach. The writer J B Priestley lived in Brook.
