Amazon World Zoo Park

Unusual and Exotic Zoo

Amazon World is no ordinary zoo - it is packed with a huge range of unusual rare and exotic animals - around 200 different species spanning the entire animal kingdom.

Learn about conservation and rainforests, and come face to face with some of the world's most endangered creatures - many of which you can't see anywhere else in the UK or even Europe. Try to spot the many species of tropical bird flying freely through the rainforest above you, or count the crocodiles in the pond. Or just sit and watch the lemurs sunbathe and play.

Beach Visit: Sandown

Gorgeous Soft Sandy Beach

Sandown Beach is one of the Isle of Wight's finest and most recognised beaches, with miles of soft golden sands crowned by Sandown's pleasure pier and topped off with spectacular chalk cliffs. Popular with tourists and surfers, Sandown is a traditional 'bucket and spade' holiday beach with all that you expect from an English family beach.

Sandown’s esplanade has traditional seaside cafes, souvenir and beach shops, whilst the pier has amusements galore.

The beach is accessible at all states of the tide and for the less ambulant we can arrange the hire of a special beach wheelchair. During the summer months a lifeguard service is provided. But if it's fun and games you're after, we can also book a specialist company that provides age-appropriate activities on the beach, book a game of crazy golf, or arrange for a surfing or paddleboarding session.

Brading Roman Villa

Award-winning Visitor Centre

Brading Roman Villa's award-winning visitor centre and museum offers a unique insight into Roman life in Britain, from beautifully preserved mosaic floors to an extensive collection of Roman archaeology.

School groups booking through Education Destination will have a dedicated tour guide for the duration of their visit, and can access additional craft-based activities after the tour such as making a mosaic coaster to take away with them.

Culver Down

Clifftop Walk

Take a short but exhilarating clifftop walk over Culver Down, taking in the historic Bembridge Fort and Yarborough Monument, wartime gun placements, along with sweeping views over Sandown Bay and Brading Haven.

Keep an eye out for peregrines, ravens, cowslips and butterflies at different times of the year.

Dinosaur Isle

Fossil Fun

A purpose-built interactive dinosaur and fossil museum conserving the rich collection of artefacts discovered primarily on the Isle of Wight.

As well as every child's highlight of handling coprolites (dino poo!) they will engage with materials teaching about the formation of fossils, rock cycles and coastal erosion.

Then it's off to the nearby beach, part of the Isle of Wight UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve, to scour for fossils under the watchful eye of an experienced paleontologist.

iSurf Watersports

Fun Intro to Surfing

Taking place in the safe, sheltered waters of Sandown Bay, iSurf offers surfing and paddleboard introductory lessons for ages 8+

Qualified instructors will ensure that complete beginners as well as more experienced students get the very most from their 90 minute session.

All safety equipment and wetsuits are provided, along with expert instruction.

Sandham Gardens (Dino Islands)

Journey to a Forgotten Land!

A mini-golf adventure that takes players on a prehistoric journey into a forgotten land full of dinosaurs! Includes water features and life-sized dinosaur models.

This 18-hole course is suitable for all ages and includes obstacles such as sizzling volcanoes, rickety bridges and waterfalls.

The Heights is a local authority-run leisure centre where we can arrange pool hire with trained lifeguards for those wanting a safe swimming environment during their visit to the Island

It's located just outside Sandown Town Centre, within walking distance of many of the hotels we use in the town.
