The task links to specific aspects of the model village that they will have explored during their visit - the model church. They will then explore the actual church itself.

Implementation

This is a pre-visit and/or on-site resource. This task can be introduced before the visit to The Model Village and students could complete the ?matching? part of the worksheet before they visit - they can then locate the features when on their visit. The tasks can be integrated into R.E. or History lessons at any stage throughout the academic year. It is anticipated that students will have an enriched experience as they will be visiting a medieval church and identifying historical features, whilst gaining an understanding of their use and what they tell us about life in and around the village of Godshill over time. Contextual notes about the history of the church are provided as an appendix to the resource, for teachers to make use of as they wish.
