School Trips to: Isle of Wight

Once again this Easter we've seen shocking news reports about extended delays at Dover with hundreds of coaches stranded for 12 or 14 hours waiting on backlogs to clear.

This isn't the first time either - in 2022 there were several days where similar chaos ensued as a result of poor weather, unsafe ferries or lack of passport control staff. As newer and more stringent border controls are introduced in 2023 and 2024 as a consequence of Brexit, we can appreciate how these issues will concern teachers, parents and students.

So next year, why not bring them to the Isle of Wight?

It's the overseas adventure without any of the hassles!

  • No port, tunnel or airport chaos
  • No passports or visas
  • No security queues
  • No baggage limits
  • No Covid certificates
  • No currency exchanges
  • No language barrier
  • No repatriation difficulties
  • Known, fixed costs and travel times

The Isle of Wight is really easy to get to - within an hour of London you'll be on a fast, frequent ferry to the Island in no time. Just hop onto our coach at the school gates, have a relaxing journey to either Portsmouth, Southampton or Lymington and hop on the next boat! Depending which way you travel, you could be on the Island within 10 minutes of leaving the mainland when the fun (and learning) can begin!

We have one of the mildest, driest and most predictable climates in the UK - warm and dry throughout spring, summer and into autumn, and our coastal proximity limits the impact of heatwaves. Even on the occasional wet day there's plenty of indoor activities.

Well known for their hospitality since Victorian times, the Island offers a wide range of accommodation options including private use of entire hotels and guest houses, lodges, glampsites, dormitories - whatever suits. We have thousands of bed spaces across the Island staffed by welcoming, experienced hosts.

There are literally hundreds of things to do and places to go in order to suit your trip objectives, whether travelling for fun, education or both! There's plenty of free and low-cost activities for the budget conscious, themed adventure parks, watersports, animal attractions, museums and historical buildings, and lots of natural wonders including stunning sandy beaches.

Why not give the Isle of Wight a try? - we can arrange a FREE quote and detailed proposal without obligation - just ask for a quote and we think you'll be pleasantly surprised!
