This is a maths resource that engages students with their visit to the Dinosaur Expedition Centre. The on-site resource task enables them to practise their measuring and number skills giving opportunities to demonstrate estimation, measurement, comparisons and conversions of numerical data and the solving of simple problems. Students are asked to complete a number of practical activities during their visit with options for follow up work back at school. The task is designed to appeal to students in key stage 2.

Before the visit, pupils could revise measurements in metres and centimetres. Some understanding of scale would be a useful addition.
