114052 - Lower KS2 Mixed Ability [THIS DOCUMENT]
This resource is for students in lower and upper key stage 2 and relates to the ‘Living Things and their Habitats’ part of the Science National Curriculum. The ‘on-site’ tasks focus on the identification of fossil teeth and the construction of food chains based on the display materials found at Dinosaur Expeditions’ activity barn.
This is an on-site resource that is designed to be completed during the visit to the activity barn. There is particular reference to the fossil teeth that students will find and the materials in the display area.
It is suggested to teachers that students be introduced to the idea the animals obtain their food from plants and other animals before their visit
Students will be aware of the relationship between structure and function of teeth. They will interpret and construct food chains. They will identify producers, predators, prey, carnivores and herbivores.
