Students analyse travel guide style writing, then craft their own page for Robin Hill.
This is a post-visit English writing resource that engages students with their visit to Robin Hill Country Park. The resource task enables them to practise their crafting skills.
Students are asked to identify literary features in a similar text and then to write to inform in an engaging way, using their experiences at Robin Hill as their stimulus material.
Students could study sample guide books / brochure pages to understand key features and conventions. „ The task could be discussed in class prior to the trip so students are bearing this in mind when on their visit, focusing on their creative responses during their experience at Robin Hill.
During the visit students could make notes on what they see with particular reference to how the different areas may attract different people. They may also take photographs in preparation.

Students will show evidence of their ability to identify relevant features in a text and demonstrate their own skills in using appropriate devices to inform and engage their audience.
