Students learn about coastal erosion, focusing particularly on how chines are formed. They will practise using 4-figure grid references and will also learn how to explain a geographical process with clarity, and put this in writing.
The resource task enables students to develop their knowledge of coastal erosion; promotes the use of mapping skills; encourages use of geographical vocabulary and requires them to use directional language in context.
Pupils will learn about erosion and become familiar with key vocabulary relating to this topic. „ The resource could be completed at this stage if desired by teachers - this would allow for exploration of the Island’s chines during the subsequent visit.
