Students learn about coastal erosion, focusing particularly on how chines are formed. They will practise using 4-figure grid references and will also learn how to explain a geographical process with clarity, and put this in writing.
The resource task enables students to develop their knowledge of coastal erosion; promotes the use of mapping skills; encourages use of geographical vocabulary and requires them to use directional language in context.
Pupils will learn about erosion and become familiar with key vocabulary relating to this topic. The resource could be completed at this stage if desired by teachers - this would allow for exploration of the Island’s chines during the subsequent visit.
Visit the ‘Coast’ exhibition.
